Dr. Lydia Chiu
My favorite part of my job is working alongside families and developing relationships with them. Providing compassionate care and making every child feel as safe and comfortable as possible is my number one priority.
My husband and I were born and raised in the DMV area. I attended the University of Virginia where I majored in Biology. I went on to Yale School of Public Health to receive my Master of Public Health in Epidemiology of Microbial Disease. After a few years of working in public health research, my desire to work more directly with patients led me to dentistry. I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and returned to DC for my residency at Children’s National Medical Center, where I served at chief resident. I am a board certified pediatric dentist and active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Having worked at NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics for my gap year prior to dental school, I am thrilled to return to such a warm environment and work alongside such dedicated clinicians. My free time is spent mostly with my large extended family that resides in the DMV area. When not spending time with my nieces or nephews, you can find me trying out a new recipe in the kitchen or going on a long walk with my husband.
