Dr. Maria Jividen

Crafting beautiful smiles is my dream job and I feel extremely fortunate to be living out my dream! Orthodontics perfectly combines science, healthcare and creativity in a way that allows me to leave a lasting impact on my patients’ lives.

My path to orthodontics was anything but traditional. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a major in Systems and Information Engineering – a field of study that I thoroughly enjoy and value. I then put my data science and engineering skills to good use as a consultant at Deloitte. After working with inspiring federal, non-profit and commercial clients for four years, I made the decision to pursue my orthodontic dreams and left to attend Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry. I graduated from VCU with my D.D.S. and was ‘wicked excited’ to match into Tufts Orthodontic Residency program. Two surprisingly mild Bostonian winters later, I am now returning home to the Northern Virginia/D.C. area to practice orthodontics and serve my local community.

I enjoy reading, exercising, eating, and spending time outdoors. As I transition from data engineer to smile engineer, I am thrilled to be joining the NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics family!
